FROM THE ARCHIVES
I created my first vision board in 2008. It’s posted above my bedroom door. It’s the first thing I see in the morning and the last thing I see before I go to bed, OTHER THAN THE HUBBY OF COURSE. It’s the perfect reminder of some of the things I would like to attain at some point in my life; it has pictures of things I would like, people I’d like to meet, places I’d like to visit, words of affirmations, long term goals, short term goals, my family, words of encouragement from others, and so much more. However rare, any thoughts I may have of quitting is short lived partially because of my vision board. It’s so in my face!!!
Creating one is super simple. All you need is a foam or cork backed board, which can be found at any craft store or even Target. I recommend getting one at least 3’ x 4’ or bigger. You’ll need a pair of scissors, thumb tacks and best of all stacks of your favorite magazines and catalogs. As you flip through your stack allow yourself freely to invoke feelings of simple joy and delight. Those are the pictures you want on your vision board. Then cut and tack! There are no rules, you can add to it daily/weekly/monthly/etc., you may take off and replace, and lastly there’s no pressure to have it full from corner to corner on the first day. Place your board somewhere you will see it often and all throughout the day. Let this be your constant reminder of why you choose to pursue what you love.
Have fun with it and remember….NO LIMITATIONS!!!!
