Did you see Robin Roberts on Oscar night? It was hard for me to focus on what she was saying when she first appeared on my screen because I was in awe at her arms; they’re not too much and it’s doable. I would love to know what her workout routine looks like. I definitely see a difference in my arms between now and say two years ago, but I feel it’s taking me too long to get to my personal goal. I know part of the problem is consistency, but I also know I’m determined. I will get there… eventually (smile).
Not too long ago I posted a blog titled “On My Way to Sexier Arms.” Well, I’m still working on them. I’m not sure what the magical number is, or if there is one as to how long you should continue doing the same routine or same set of exercises. My thinking is, if while I’m doing a routine and I’m not truly focused, not really soar the next day or so, then I’ve probably become complacent and it’s time to switch it up. I’ve substituted maybe 2-3 machines/exercises in my recent routine over the past 3 weeks, I think it’s time to change it up completely. I came across this sequence of arm exercises on Women’s Health for toning your arms and thought I would share it with you. Look, Spring is here and Summer is around the corner so let’s get our fine-ness on people!
In their article it said to “do it 2 non-consecutive days for 4-8 weeks.” I’m going to give it a shot and let you know what I think. I would love to hear your feedback as well.
Typically I do the following:
- Sets: 3
- Reps: 10-12
- Rest: 60 seconds
- 6-8 different machines/exercises
This is what they’ve suggested but I will most likely add 3 more exercises to this routine.
