Undeniably there’s an art to building a satisfying relationship, but how do you start or maintain one? Choosing the right partner for some can be challenging, while others start off as friends eventually evolving into a serious and a more committed relationship. Also, how the relationship is developed, sustained, and maintained is up to both people. It takes two people to make a baby well the same holds true into making a relationship work = IT TAKES 2! If you start off as friends work on keeping it that way. Do you currently consider your partner, mate, spouse, lover your best friend? If you answered no then I have some suggestions for you.
Things to consider:
- If you were soliciting a BFF on line at bestfriends.com, what would your requirements be? Write them down on a sheet of paper…
o My friend should be encouraging
o Should be a positive thinker
o Brings out the best in me
o Is supportive
o Helpful when needed
o Is truthful and honest, etc. etc.
- Now I want you to flip the script, are you these things to your partner? If not, then you too will need to consider implementing them towards the way you treat them; treat people the way you want to be treated.
- Finally, there is no mathematical equation that explains how long the process will take, but like so many other things in life plant the seed, water the garden, and look forward to the harvest without limitations and great expectations. Practice patience as you work on cultivating this process. It’s really not that difficult.
Edwin and I were friends long before we took it to the next level. Being friends with my husband is definitely a key component that has helped make our relationship so successful. I hope this less than two minute video will inspire you…
